• In this unit you learn how to create an
  effective, well designed web site showing how to
  use a gadget of your choice
• This involves learning how to use a web authoring
  package Macromedia Dreamweaver
• The best web sites are published on the St
  Aelreds College web site and earn a letter of
  commendation sent home

8.2 Unit Objectives

• By the end of the unit you will have learnt how
  to
• use diagrams to design a website
• use a range of ICT resources to create web
  pages, combining text and images
• take account of the interests and needs of
  users of the site
• format the pages automatically, recognising
  some advantages of automatic formatting
• refine web pages for publication to different
  audiences
• devise and use criteria to evaluate and refine
  a website

8.2 L5 Expectations

• most pupils will achieve level 5 and
• use a web authoring package to plan and create a
  website which incorporates text, graphics and
  hyperlinks, taking account of the purpose of the
  website and the intended audience
• devise and use criteria to evaluate the
  effectiveness of their website for a range of
  audiences

8.2 L6 Expectations

• Some pupils will have progressed further and
  achieve level 6
• Use automated routines to control events on
  their page to make the contained information more
  accessible to a range of users (e.g. areas of the
  screen that change in response to mouse movement)
• Integrate applications (e.g. include a response
  form on their site to collect information from
  users)
• In their evaluation suggest suitable changes.

• A project diary recording work and showing
  planning evaluation
• a portfolio ie printouts of work eg
• Web site design
• Screen dumps to show improvements
