What is the Grants Policy Committee?

• The GPC is a committee of the U.S. Chief
  Financial Officers (CFO) Council.
• The GPC is charged with improving the management
  of Federal financial assistance government-wide.
  
• The Committee recommends financial assistance
  policies and practices to OMB and coordinates
  related interagency activities.
• The GPC serves the public interest in
  collaboration with other Federal-wide grants
  initiatives.

P.L. 106-107 the Federal Grants Streamlining
Initiative

• P.L. 106-107 (The Federal Financial Assistance
  Management Improvement Act) A 1999 law
  requiring OMB to ensure that grant making Federal
  agencies streamline processes, develop common
  systems, and consult with grantees
• Federal Grants Streamlining Initiative (FGSI)
  Initiative undertaken in response to P.L. 106-107
• Sunset P.L. 106-107 is scheduled to sunset
  11/2007
