• It kills more people than any other drug.
• Causes more injuries and disease.
• Excluding tobacco, results in dependency more
  than all other drugs combined.
• ALCOHOL IS A depressant.
• Slows down the nervous system.
• Impairs judgment

HOW ALCOHOL DAMAGES THE BODY

• Hangover reaction showing your body the damage
  alcohol does.
• Tired, headache, thirsty, upset stomach
• Stomach produces extra acids, resulting in
  ulcers.
• Liver extra workload of liver breaking down
  alcohol, liver cells die and are replaced with
  fatty cells (hepatitis), then replaced with scar
  tissue (cirrohsis).
• Kidneys tricks body into producing more urine.
  Get dehydrated.
• Bone Tissue long term drinking may lead to
  brittle bones.
• Cancer chance of breast, stomach, mouth cancers
• Malnutrition alcohol decreases appetite and
  provides few if any nutrients.

• Alcohol is not digested, goes directly to
  stomach, bloodstream then to the organs (brain,
  liver, kidneys, etc.)
• Detoxification rate by liver is about 1 oz of
  alcohol every 60 minutes.
• So it takes 1 hour for 1 drink to get completely
  out of your system.
