Adding, Finding and Replacing Text
  • With Find and Replace you can search the entire
publication for specific words/text. Find and
Replace will catch the first character you
    request.
  • The Replace feature has two sections Find what
and Replace with. Each box needs to be filled in
order to replace one word with another.

3
Using Spell Check
  • Spell check will scan the publication beginning
to end, and provides you with alternative grammar
and word options for you to accept or ignore.
  • It is recommended that the publication is still
edited manually, as in some cases spell check
will not catch homophones (there, their, theyre).

4
Setting Spell Check Options
  • Publisher covers the basics such as Flag
Repeated Words and Check Spelling As You Type.
  • The check spelling as you type feature is
particularly useful it will underline words in
green for grammar and red for misspelling.

5
AutoCorrect Options
  • AutoCorrect options correct the text as you are
    typing.
  • For example, if you start a sentence without a
capital it will correct it when you finish the
    word.
  • You will know when a word has been corrected as
it is represented by lightning bolt.

6
Setting Language Options
  • From the Tools menu, select Language options.

7
Making use of the Thesaurus
  • In order for the Thesaurus to be available, a
word has to be highlighted for it to read.
  • If there is a word that is in the area of what
you are looking for, select that word and more
    options will be available.

8
Using Hyphenation
  • Hyphenation can be applied automatically or
    manually.
  • This feature also allows you to change the
frequency of hyphens added to the publication.

9
Copying Objects and Text
  • Essentially, when you copy you are duplicating an
    object or text.
  • You can take three avenues to Copy and object or
the Edit menu, formatting toolbar, or the
    object/picture/texts options.
  • The copy feature can be easily found by its icon
    shown to the left.

10
Cutting Objects and Text
  • When you cut an object/picture/text you are
cutting it out of the publication to be moved to
another area on the page or another publication.
  • If the item is not going to be used, it is a good
idea to delete the item instead of cutting it to
    save room on the clipboard.
  • The cut feature is represented by the scissors
and can be accessed the easiest from the
    formatting toolbar.

11
Pasting Objects and Text
  • Pasting always comes after cutting or copying.
  • Can be identified by the Clipboard and Document
    located on the formatting toolbar.
  • Another way to paste a object or text is to press
    CtrlV from your keyboard.

12
Using the Clipboard
  • The clipboard is useful when cutting and pasting
    multiple objects and text.
  • The clipboard task pane will display each item as
a thumbnail (mini picture) so you are able to
    spot the item easily.

13
Changing Clipboard Options
  • The clipboard options are contained at the bottom
of the clipboard task pane select the options
    arrow to view.
  • To active or deactivate clipboard options check
    or uncheck an item.
