Origins of the VIP
  • Set up in July 2005 as a pilot project
  • Funded by Welsh Assembly

    exclusion

  • Prevent eviction and exclusion and provide a
    route back into settled housing for people
    already excluded
  • Reduce anti-social behaviour
  • Improve the participation and inclusion of
    households
  • Reduce the impact on housing management

  • Total funding of 125000 over 2 years
  • Estimated project costs of 94000 from January
    06 to June 07
  • Funding now being sought from-

  • Households average time with VIP was 11 months
  • Average total cost for households leaving the VIP
    was 7209
  • Total costs for households varied between 3774
    and 10693

VIP evaluation - conclusion
  • There is clear evidence that the project was
    successful
  • There is clear evidence to suggest that the
    project has contributed to the prevention of
    eviction and therefore homelessness
  • It is clear that the majority of households who
    engaged with the VIP have at the time of this
    evaluation reduced their involvement with ASB
