General Concepts

• Parallel structure is preferred
• Full stop (period) is unnecessary
• Two or more bullets in an itemized environment is
  preferred. Otherwise,
• Maybe something is wrong
• Recommended word quotas per slide are 10 words
  per bullet, and about four to six bullets

Layout Issues

• Slide Master
• Set default font to Helvetica (for maximum
  portability)
• Push title higher up
• Make text area larger, higher up
• Text to left, diagrams to right
• No font ever smaller than 20 points
• Dark text on light background

PowerPoint Issues

• Watch out for PP
• Making font sizes smaller
• Being unrealistic with smart quotes
• Munging em dashes
• Capitalizing when you dont want it!
• Paste special is your friend
• Charts

• Go easy on animations, text highlighting, and
  colors
