  integrating technology resources.

Framework

• Teachers and administrators go out to the
  community to invite businesses to the Parent
  Business day.
• Daily announcements are made to students and
  staff.
• Promoted through marquee, school newsletter,
  flyers, and parent letters.
• Phone calls are made to the homes of students.

Framework - Session 1

• Community Entrepreneurs use the computer labs in
  the morning where an overview of the initiative
  is presented.
• Business cards are made by the parents and other
  community business owners with the help of Tech
  Prep students.
• Thirty business cards are made for the community
  business representatives.

Framework Session 2

• Juniors and Seniors are released to the cafeteria
  to listen to the individual businesses.
• Parents from the community are invited to attend
  the Business day.
• The businesses give out their business cards to
  the students, teachers, and parents. Teachers
  and students get an opportunity to see what the
  community has to offer.

Framework Session 3

• The parents and entrepreneurs are invited to stay
  for our annual luncheon.
• In the afternoon, 20 Tech Prep students are taken
  to individual businesses to perform some of the
  tasks at hand. Working on the register, using
  databases, imputing information in the computer.

Parent Business Day

• Collaboration between all the stakeholders takes
  place. It started off with 8 businesses last
  year. This year we had 15 local businesses
  participate. Our projection for next year is
  that it will be made bigger and better.
• Our success will come through continued
  collaboration between Valley View High School,
  parents, and businesses as our community
  continues to show economic growth.
