    within the industry, company and country
  • To yourself- be professional, show integrity and
    do not compromise your own standards, use tact
    and diplomacy at all times.

  • You have access to the Uni intranet via your

  • Learning objectives
  • Progress packs (1, 2, 3, one set per placement)
  • Handbook
  • Employers report( at least one per placement)
  • Importance of paperwork / timing
  • TAKE ALL YOUR PAPERWORK WITH YOU.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Determined by YOU in conjunction with your
    EMPLOYER and your SUPERVISING TUTOR
  • Realistic,challenging, academic, achievable
  • Draft copy to your tutor within 4 weeks of start
    date
  • Continuous communication through out the year
  • Placement is 30 level two credits
  • Debrief session in first week of term 2003!
  • Portfolio handed in within four weeks of
    beginning of term.

PROBLEMS
  • Comply with employers terms and conditions /
    staff handbook/ grievance procedure
  • Contact supervising tutor / co-ordinator as soon
    as possible
  • Leaving placement without the prior consent of
    your supervising tutor or the placement
    co-ordinator may constitute de-registering from
    the course
  • Disciplinary procedure or dismissal will
    constitute de-registering from the course.

And finally
  • Do not undertake any duties which may involve
    working unsupervised with children
  • Check the University insurance policy (on student
    intranet) before bungee jumping, white water
    rafting , free fall parachuting etc
  • If your immediate health and safety is in severe
    danger contact your supervisor / university
    immediately
  • Fees are payable for the year but...
