For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for
it is only the third hour of the day but this is
what was spoken of through the prophet Joel

AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS EVEN UPON MY
BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN, I WILL IN THOSE

ABOVE, AND SIGNS ON THE EARTH BENEATH, BLOOD, AND
FIRE, AND VAPOR OF SMOKE. THE SUN SHALL BE

Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all
the land until the ninth hour. (Matthew 2745).
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and
yielded up His spirit. And behold, the veil of
the temple was torn in two from top to bottom,
and the earth shook and the rocks were split,
and the tombs were opened and many bodies of the
saints who had fallen asleep were raised
(Matthew 2750-52).

And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and
will be led captive into all the nations and
Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the
Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be
fulfilled. And there will be signs in sun and
moon and stars, and upon the earth dismay among
nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea
and the waves, (Luke 2124-25).

13B. The Focus on Jesus Christ ( 222-36)
1. Jesus, the Suffering Messiah (222-23)
Men of Israel, listen to these words Jesus the
Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with
miracles and wonders and signs which God
performed through Him in your midst, just as you
yourselves know-- this Man, delivered up by the
predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you
nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and
put Him to death. (Acts 222-23).

B. The Focus on Jesus Christ ( 222-36)
33 Therefore having been exalted to the right
hand of God, and having received from the Father
the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured
forth this which you both see and hear. 34 For
it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he
himself says THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, SIT AT
MY RIGHT HAND, 35 UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES A
FOOTSTOOL FOR THY FEET. 36 Therefore let all
the house of Israel know for certain that God has
made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom
you crucified.

on the Trinity (233) 3. Jesus is Lord (Key

16C. The Exhortation (Acts 237-40)
37 Now when they heard this, they were pierced to
the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the
apostles, Brethren, what shall we do? 38 And
Peter said to them, Repent, and let each of you
be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the
forgiveness of your sins and you shall receive
the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise
is for you and your children, and for all who are
far off, as many as the Lord our God shall call
to Himself. 40 And with many other words he
solemnly testified and kept on exhorting them,
saying, Be saved from this perverse
generation! (Acts 237-40).
- Convicted hearts (237)
- Response of the Apostles (238-40)
17Conclusion
- Do not say that God has not called you. God has
commanded all everywhere to repent. - Do not think that Jesus was only a good man.
Jesus is alive and Lord over all. - Do not think that being a good Christian is
good enough. Live by the power of the Holy
Spirit. - Do not think that one does not need to repent.
Repent and be saved! - Do not think the resurrection is unimportant.
Without Jesus raised from the dead, no salvation. - Do not think your infant baptism is enough. It
says, Repent and be baptized!
