• To examine the universitys environment
• to identify stakeholders key players within
  the micro and macro sphere of a university
  (higher educational institution)
• to discuss the impacts of a university/HEI on the
  region

Toward meaningful engagement

• Develop an understanding for the characteristics
  of the region
• identify particular opportunities for engagement
  ? SWOT analysis of the region
• regions in transition ? face number of specific
  challanges

• Organizations and/or individuals who interact or
  have the potential to interact with a
  university/HEI
• public/private schools and other training
  institutions supervising institutions
• business and industrial community
• support organizations (chambers of commerce,
  trade unions,)
• local and regional governments
• educational users (full part-time students)

• Bring together HEIs and other regional partners
  through workshops and seminars to identify areas
  of interaction and non-interaction
• Universities/HEIs should disseminate knowledge of
  what they can offer
• Impacts on the region are
