- Under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed, the
development of the country since independence has
been peaceful, proactive and well administered.
- Impressive all round performance
- UAE GDP touched US 71 billion in 2002 up by
2.5 over previous year. - Oil sector contributed 33.6 in 2002 as against
35.5 in 2001. - Non oil sector contributed 66.4 in 2002 against
70.5 in 2001. - Investments into the economy 24 of the GDP
increase of 2.6 over 2001. - Exports climbed US 49.5 billion in 2002 against
US 48.7 b in 2001. - Oil exports represented 34.1 and re-exports
accounted for 29.4 of total exports.

East. - Dubais expansion plan accelerated creation of
network of free zones Jebel Ali, DIC, DMC, KV,

tourism sector expansion Dubailand, Marina,
Palm, Lakes, Burj Dubai, etc. - Dubai as a leisure and business destination
continues to grow unabated. Passenger movement up
by 13 and cargo grew by 23 in 2003.
