passes by a group of boys at their lockers who
tease her. She does not like it when this
happens, but she is not sure how to react.

5
Conflict Resolution
  • There are different ways to solve a conflict.
Some work better than others. The best
approaches lead to resolving conflicts without
    arguing or fighting.

6
Conflict Styles
  • Avoidance
  • Not dealing with the disagreement by pretending
that it doesnt exist, or changing what you do so
you do not see the person that you are
    disagreeing with.
  • Confrontation
  • Attacking the person you disagree with by yelling
at them or physically pushing or hitting them.
  • Problem Solving
  • Working together with the person you are
disagreeing with to make a compromise.

Conflict Outcomes

    during conflict resolution. (problem solving

Conflict Resolution
  • People develop different ways of dealing with
conflict. Some may respond in a certain way
because that is the coping technique they have
learned from their parents or friends. Others
respond to conflict in ways they think will make
    them look tough.

15
Conflict Resolution
  • The important thing to remember about dealing
with conflict is that we can develop
conflict-resolution habits like we develop any
other habit. As a young person, it is best to
start to develop the habit of dealing with
conflict in a problem-solving way. Not only will
this help you as you grow into an adult, but it
will help you achieve win-win outcomes!
