  • How to Play Kickball With Basic Rules
  • Kickball is a fun, easy-to-learn game that
combines elements of soccer and baseball. It's
often played by kids, but adults can enjoy it
too. Below are the basic rules and guidelines to
help you understand how to play kickball.
  • Setting up the Game
  • Kickball is played on a diamond-shaped field,
similar to a baseball field. There are four
bases first base, second base, third base, and
home plate. A team consists of about 8-10
    players.
  • Starting the Game
  • Divide players into two teams one team kicks
    while the other team fields.
  • The fielding team takes their positions, with a
pitcher rolling the ball towards the kicker.
  • The kicking team lines up to kick.
  • Kicking the Ball
  • The pitcher rolls the ball towards home plate.
  • The kicker tries to kick the ball and run to
    first base.
  • The goal is to run around all the bases and
return to home plate without being tagged or
    forced out.
  • Running the Bases
  • After kicking, the player must run to the bases
in order first, second, third, and finally home.
  • A player is safe if they reach a base before the
fielding team can throw the ball to that base.
  • A player is out if the fielding team catches the
ball before it hits the ground or tags them with
the ball while they are running.
  • Scoring
  • A point (or run) is scored when a player
successfully runs around all the bases and
    reaches home plate.

2
  • A kicked ball is caught before it hits the
    ground.
  • A runner is tagged with the ball while not on a
    base.
  • The ball reaches the base before the runner does.
  • Switching Sides
  • Once the fielding team gets three outs, the teams
switch. The fielding team becomes the kicking
    team, and the game continues.
  • Winning the Game
  • The game typically lasts for a set number of
innings, often 5 or 6. The team with the most
runs at the end of the innings wins the game.
  • Here is a list of general rules/concepts central
to game play, from team structure to other less
    discussed rules.
  • 10 fielders.
  • 7 innings (if time allows).
  • 2 base coaches.
  • Bounciest are allowed but it must bounce at
    least twice before home-plate.
  • Strike zone is 1 ft on all sides of the
    home-plate (and above)
  • You can throw a runner out, but no headshots.
  • One base on an overthrow.
