INTRODUCTION
The best-kept secret about silicon valley is not
the software, but rather its the story of Bill
Campbell and Steve Jobs. Bill Campbell was a
football coach. When he met Steve Jobs, he never
discussed product strategies. He concentrated on
creating psychological safety, which inspired
almost the entire Silicon Valley leaders to open
up to him without reservation. Because of the
trust he instilled, both Google and Apple sought
Bill's advice when they were embroiled in a
bitter dispute over some Android operating
system features.
The moral of this story, that even great
revolutions like Apple stood on the grounds of
abilities Bill had acquired over the period of
his Coaching experience. This book is intended
to be a comprehensive resource that contains
everything a coach needs to start and sustain a
successful coaching practise. These materials
are intended to ease the path to success so that
you do not have to start from scratch and
reinvent the wheel. You will find materials to
help you whether you are starting a coaching
business or positioning yourself as an internal
coach. In this book, we will be discovering the
journey of coaching. How coaching came into
life, how it achieved its fame, its evolution,
and its recognition. Let us first start by

4HISTORY OF
COACHING
The term "coach" derives from the name of a town
in Hungary (Koc) that used to manufacture
carriages in the fifteenth century. They built a
type of light, fast carriage that became popular
throughout Europe. The English word "coach" is
thought to be derived from the Hungarian word
"kocsi," which means "from Koc." Coaches are
thought to have first appeared in England in the
sixteenth century. Other concept says that the
term "coach" in reference to a trainer first
appeared around 1830 at Oxford University. In
1861, the term "coaching" was thus defined as a
process used to transport people from where they
are to where they want to go. Historically, it
was first associated with sports, and now it is
applicable in all areas.

5WHAT IS
COACHING?
Coaching is a new profession that has combined
the best of psychology, business, evolution,
philosophy, spirituality, and finance to help
entrepreneurs, professionals, and business
owners. Coaching is a process that focuses on
assisting individuals, teams, and organisations
in improving their behaviour, cognition,
actions, decision-making, and overall
efficiency. The estimated market value of the
coaching industry in the US rose from 707
million in 2011 to 1.02 billion in 2016. This
is an increase of almost 30 over 5 years. A
coach assists a coachee in making a change,
acquiring new skills, or achieving goals. This
is accomplished through conversation, which can
occur in person, over the phone, or online. The
ultimate goal is to assist the coachee in making
progress in a particular area of their life, at
work, or in overcoming a problem. Here, we'll
look at how coaching works, how it differs from
other approaches, and what you should do next
if you're ready to begin your coaching journey.

6HOW DOES
COACHING
WORK? Coaching works due to three
factors SYNERGY The coaches and the clients
work together as a team, in synergy to achieve
the clients goals. STRUCTURE The coaches
create a structure for the clients that encloses
all the goals and aspirations of the
clients. EXPERTISE Coaches are experts who are
trained with strategies and techniques to bring
the goals set into life.
So, the fundamental belief that underpins
coaching is that we already possess the answers
we seek. A coach's role is to assist the coachee
in obtaining these responses. This is
accomplished through a variety of conversational
techniques, including interrogation, active
listening, observation, and reflection. When
these techniques are used, the coachee gains
increased self-awareness and frequently a new
insight. Having a non-judgmental, non-biased
person available to provide focused attention
enables the coachee to comprehend how to proceed.

9BENEFITS OF
BEING A
HELPING OTHERS
The satisfaction one receives after helping
someone is the blessing of coaches. Coaches
always want the best for their clients and they
work their best to drive out plans to help them
in their personal and professional lives.
COACH PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT When you hold
yourself accountable for results, share
distinctions, and offer advice, you learn,
learn, and learn some more. In fact, you'll
learn more than 80 of what you need to know
directly from your clients. The percentage
change in total revenue for coaches between
2015-2019 was 36 in the US. A SUCCESSFUL
CAREER Life coaching is the second-fastest-
growing industry in the world with an average
yearly growth of 6.7. According to research,
professional coaches who have received
certification and training are more successful
and are less likely to leave the coaching
profession. According to School of Coaching
Mastery research, approximately 80.6 percent of
coaches want to be more successful. CREATING
NETWORK The coaching industry works on the
grounds of networking. You form lifelong
friendships and empowering relationships.
Clients become life partners because they
contribute to you in the same way that you
contribute to them.
The point is that coaching is a well-paying
profession if you have the right training, the
gift of coaching, and are part of a strong
network.

11COACHING IS NOT?
WHAT
It is quite common to mix coaching with other
forms of consulting like mentoring, counseling,
and therapy. Before we further talk about it in
coming blogs, let us know what each individual
term means.
01 MENTORING Mentoring occurs when a senior
colleague who is perceived to be more
knowledgeable and wise in the world offers
advice and serves as a role model. Mentoring
entails extensive discussions that are not
necessarily related to the work environment. A
mentor is a sponsor who possesses extensive
professional experience in the field of work in
which their client works. Both mentoring and
coaching are primarily concerned with current and
future accomplishments. 02 COUNSELING Counseling
is the process of assisting a client who is
experiencing discomfort or dissatisfaction with
their life. They are seeking direction and
counsel. A counsellor works to resolve a
client's issue. 03 THERAPY The term "therapy"
refers to the process of working with a client
who is seeking relief from psychological or
physical symptoms. The client desires emotional
healing and mental pain relief. The client's
mental health is addressed during therapy.
Coaching is concerned with the client's mental
development. Both therapy and counselling
are more likely than coaching to involve an
examination of and work with past experiences.

1204 TRAINING
Training is the process of acquiring knowledge,
skills, and abilities through study, experience,
or instruction. By definition, the trainer is
an expert, and the training course is likely to
focus on specific skills that will yield
immediate results. Additionally, training is more
likely to be one-to-many than one-to-one.
05 CONSULTANCY A consultant provides expertise
and helps businesses solve problems or grow as
a whole. A consultant works with the
organisation as a whole or with specific parts of
it, not with individuals within it. Individuals
are only indirectly impacted by consultants.
06 TEACHING Teaching is the process by which
knowledge is transferred from teacher to
student. The teacher is privy to information
that the student is unaware of. In coaching, the
reverse is true. The client is the expert, and
the client, not the coach, has the answers.

13WELCOME TO
CONCLUSION
We have provided a brief overview of the history
of coaching in this book. We talked about how
coaching is currently working, as well as its
benefits and purpose. Finally, we defined the
term "coaching" and distinguished it from other
related conversational interventions. Coaching
is now well-established as a method of assisting
others in their pursuit of what they truly
desire, whether that is a specific goal or
simply a lifestyle they wish to create. Learning
to coach others is a rewarding and fulfilling
experience. And, in a world where so many of us
face complex life circumstances and decisions,
coaching can make a significant difference.
