TEST SECTION TIMING
  • THE PSAT IS COMPOSED OF THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS,
    WHICH YOU MUST ADMINISTER IN ORDER
  • EVIDENCE BASED READING AND WRITING
  • 60 MINUTES FOR THE READING TEST
  • 35 MINUTES FOR THE WRITING AND LANGUAGE TEST
  • MATH (2 PARTS)
  • 25 MINUTES FOR THE MATH TEST (NO CALCULATOR)
  • 45 MINUTES FOR THE MATH TEST (CALCULATOR)

ADMINISTER THE TEST
  • TIME THE TEST
  • ACCURATELY TIME EACH TEST SECTION. STUDENTS MUST
    BE GIVEN THE ENTIRE AMOUNT OF TIME EVEN IF THEY
    FINISH BEFORE TIME IS CALLED . THEY CANNOT MOVE
    ON TO THE NEXT SECTION UNTIL TIME IS CALLED.
  • RECORD THE START AND STOP TIMES ON THE LINES
    PROVIDED IN THE SCRIPT
  • POST THE TIMES FOR STUDENTS TO SEE
  • ANNOUNCE THE REMAINING TIME AT REGULAR INTERVALS
    AS NOTED IN THE SCRIPT
  • BEFORE YOU CALL STOP, CHECK YOUR WATCH AGAINST
    THE TIME YOU HAVE WRITTEN DOWN
  • REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE SECTION TIMING CHART IN
    THE APPENDIX
  • MAINTAIN SECURITY IN THE TESTING ROOM
  • REMAIN VIGILANT AT ALL TIMES DURING TESTING
  • MAKE SURE STUDENTS DO NOT USE CALCULATORS,
    PHONESDURING BREAKS
  • DONT LEAVE TEST MATERIALS UNATTENDED UNDER ANY
    CIRCUMSTANCES
  • NO ONE MAY ACCESS OR USE PHONES OR WEABABLE
    TECHNOLOGY IN THE TESTING ROOM OR DURING BREAKS,
    OR EAT OR DRINK DURING TESTING UNLESS THEY HAVE
    AN APPROVED ACCOMODATION.
  • PREVENT COPYING AND COMMUNICATION
  • MONITOR BREAKS
  • BREAKS WILL BE IN THE CLASSROOM
  • ON STUDENT CAN BE SENT TO THE RESTROOM AT A TIME.
  • COMPLETE THE IRREGULARITY REPORT

AFTER TEST
  • COLLECT TEST BOOKS AND OTHER TEST MATERIALS
  • INSPECT THE ANSWER SHEET TO ENSURE THAT ALL
    IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IS COMPLETE
  • HAVE STUDENTS FILL IN ANY MISSING INFORMATION
  • KEEP STUDENTS SEATED UNTIL YOU ARE SURE YOU HAVE
    EVERY STUDENTS ANSWER SHEET AND TEST BOOK
  • VERIFY BY COUNT THAT YOU HAVE A TEST BOOK AND
    ANSWER SHEET FOR EACH STUDENT.
  • PLACE THE ANSWER DOCUMENTS IN ALPHA ORDER
  • ENSURE YOUR SEATING CHART IS COMPLETE
  • FILL OUT THE IR IF APPLICABLE
  • CHECK THE TESTING ROOM TO MAKE SURE NOTHING HAS
    BEEN LEFT BEHIND
  • MAKE SURE TO RETURN ALL MATERIALS TO Mrs. Aldrin
