Air Seychelles is the national state airline of
Seychelles headquartered at Seychelles
International Airport (MAE), which operates
scheduled commercial flights to 9 destinations on

In 1972, an international airport opens at Mahe,
the central island of the Seychelles archipelago.
In the period 1971-1981, due to the sharply

aircraft. In 1989, Air Seychelles acquired the
Boeing 767-200ER. In the process of driving a
plane from the city of Grand Rapids, USA, a range
record was set (14,311 km), a new one for this
type of aircraft. Boeing 767-200ER cruised on the
lines of London, Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich and
Rome. In 1993, Air Seychelles acquired the Boeing
757 for lines to Madrid, Nairobi, Johannesburg,
Dubai, Mumbai and Singapore.

In 1996, Air Seychelles received the new Boeing
767-300ER and replaced it with the Boeing
757. In April 2001, Air Seychelles acquired the
second Boeing 767-300ER to replace the Boeing
767-200ER. In November 2001, the Boeing 737-700
was acquired for local airlines, but in April
2005 it was decommissioned due to restructuring
of its routes.

Domestic flights to the Seychelles are carried
out by four modern De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin
Otter - 400 Series aircraft by Air Seychelles.
This aircraft is ideal for flights between the
islands and can carry up to 16 passengers. The
average speed is 260 km / h, flight range of 1700
kilometers, the length of the run is only 366
meters. Air Seychelles operates approximately
178 scheduled flights between the Mahe and
Praslin Islands weekly. The company also carries

operator. Passengers traveling between the
islands of Mahe and Praslin are entitled to 20 kg
of free baggage plus an additional 15 kg for the

playing golf. The domestic terminal on Mahe
Island is a two-minute walk from the
international terminal.
