All acts of corruption contain an inherent
conflict of interest and can remain undetected in
an organization for years, if indeed they are
detected at all.
Now we find this same unholy alliance in the law
enforcement industry and organizations. What
makes this troubling is we expect law enforcement
professionals be held to a very high standard.
Think about it, these are the very people we
depend on and trust in cases of life and death
situations.  What seems to be troubling is the
fact that some companies in these industries are
pumping so much money to various organizations
that it actually becomes dangerous.

For example, we looked at organizations that were
set up to review products for the law enforcement
industry.  There seems to be a pay to play
tactic going on   What we found in some the law
enforcement organizations, like the  National
Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) and the
people involved with it seem to be involved with
this sort of tactic.
It is important to note two factors when
considering the NTOA and its recommendations and
certifications for products used in law
enforcement.

The first factor being that NTOA has an
interesting pay to play scheme when it comes to
product endorsements or recommendations.  They
endorse everything from office desks to underwear
and even endorse some Under Armour (UA) articles
of clothing that are known to be flammable.  Can
you imagine NTOA promoting a product that could
causes major injuries to law enforcement
professionals?
