Parenthetical citation

• Placing relevant sources in parentheses after you
  quote or paraphrase someone.
• Ex. Cutting hair is a job I enjoying doing even
  if I didnt get paid, was a quote from a barber
  I interviewed at Christian Cutts barber shop.

Author page stlye

• This refer to the author name and page number in
  which you quoted or paraphrased must be present
  in text and appear on Work Cited page.
• Ex. WordsWorth stated that Romantic poetry was
  marked by a spontaneous overflow of powerful
  feelings (263)
• This tells the readers where the information in
  this passage can be located on page 263 and the
  author name is WordsWorth.

Citing non-print or sources from the internet

• Always include authors name ,article website, and
  htm.
• Dont include paragraph or page number
• If web page isnt needed good, but if it is dont
  include the URLS in text
• Ex. During the presentation latosha Priester
  stated that the in-text citation are important
  when written a paper.

Two or three authors of the same work

• If there is more than one author present, give
  last names and page numbers and all must be
  listed in your passage.
• Ex from my source, In Metephors We Live By,
  Lakoff and Johnson states that metaphors
  actually structure our perceptions and
  understanding(57).

Work with no authors

• If author is unknown, use the book title,
  article, or web site (italice). Make sure to work
  cite in.
• Ex. According to the Kinston Health Department in
  NC ,there is a problem with lack of health
  coverage in the dentist department. (Kinston
  free Press 4b)

Signal phrase

• The author name and verb before the borrowed
  material then the page number in parentheses.
• Using signal phase allows you to combine the
  borrowed material into your sentence, and put the
  source in context to your own words,

Group, government, or corporate author

• When a Corporation or government is listed as the
  author use the organizations name in your
  in-text citation.
• Ex. The UN Ambassador Madel stated, Congress was
  not supportive of the additional peacekeepers but
  was clear that the pentagon was not interested in
  getting involved with the War in Rawanda.

The rarest used in-text citation is known as
sacred text

• Scared text (bible, book of Quran) you will cite
  book title, no page number add the chapter
  number, verse number and separate each with a
  period, Dont italicize book.
• Ex. The one I love most out of the book of Quran
  is I seek refuge with the God of mankind from
  the evil of the whisper who would draw beast who
  whisper in the ear of man kind and Jin. (S114 A
  1-6).
