    damage caused by diabetes

2.1 Exercise regularly
  • Being diabetic is no excuse to give up
exercising. Include at least 30 minutes of
exercise daily. The more you stay active, the
easier it is going to be to control diabetes.

2.2 Get regular health check-ups
  • Go for regular physical and pathological tests,
even if you feel OK/good/great. Remember the
proverb, Prevention is better than cure?
Avoid any nasty surprises by scheduling regular
health check-ups and consulting your doctor about
    any changes in medicines required.

2.3 Eat Healthy
  • Cut down on deep-fried foods and avoid packaged
foods laced with preservatives.Eat lots of
greens and salads instead. Make sure your
cholesterol levels and blood pressure are
    monitored regularly.

2.4 Quit Smoking and Drinking
  • Smoking and drinking increase your risk of
    diabetes-related complications. The biggest
risk for diabetes patients is that smoking
reduces blood flow in the legs and feet which
could lead to ulcers and sores that are difficult
    to heal.

9
2.5 Take your medicines regularly
  • Even doctors stress that taking medicines on time
is very important to their treatment plan.
Diabetes requires medicines to be taken
regularly over a long period of time.
