Title: Laura Deleruyelle: Sugar, A Bitter Sweet Story

1
Laura Deleruyelle Sugar, A Bitter Sweet
Story
2
Laura Deleruyelle is an advanced practice nurse
with a Doctor of Nursing practice degree who has
been helping lead the fight in educating people
about the dangers of sugar. It has become more
and more common, especially in Western culture,
to consume massive amounts of sugar in the diet
without ever stopping to consider the effects
that it has on the body. Many people enjoy sugar
because it has a very dense calorie content, but
dont realize it has virtually no nutritional
value other than providing an energy source.
3
Laura Deleruyelle has pointed out to people that
sugar overconsumption leads to many of the
diseases that plagues the masses today. One of
the real problems with sugar is that if you lead
a sedentary lifestyle, it causes the liver to
turn fructose into fat, instead of usable energy.
Fructose can even saturate the liver, causing it
to be fatty and bring with it a number of other
risk factors and health complications. That is
why it is best to steer away from refined sugars
and just eat fruit for a sweet tooth instead.
4
Laura Deleruyelle and other medical professionals
have known for quite sometime the detrimental
effects of sugar on the body. One such effect is
that sugar isnt just easily accessible and
digestible for humans, but for bacteria as well.
Sugar often provides energy to bad bacteria cells
in the mouth, which in turn eats at the enamel of
the teeth and gums, causing gum disease and tooth
decay. These bad bacteria are the cause of things
like cavities, tooth destruction, and even
gingivitis.
5
Laura Deleruyelle suggests staying away from
sugar because of the many effects it has on the
state of your health and well-being. If the
prospect of developing a fatty liver and
heightening your risk of obesity isnt enough,
consider that excess sugar consumption can also
cause diabetes. That is because sugar has been
linked to causing the body to develop resistance
to insulin. That is why you should do your best
to steer away from refined sugars entirely.
