• Sometimes, security guards are dismissed as mere
  rent-a-cops who dont do much to actually deter
  crime.

• But a recent story out of Jonesboro, GA has
  demonstrated that this kind of thinking is not
  accurate.

• Armed security guard Joseph Watson pulled his gun
  on an armed, masked robber trying to enter the
  store he was protecting.

• The robber fired a single shot, one that didnt
  hit anyone. Then, he fled.

• The robber had already targeted the store on
  multiple occasions. Nobody had been hurt yet, but
  that didnt mean that the store employees and
  customers would not have been in deadly danger
  without Watsons presence and quick thinking.

• Dont let anyone tell you that deciding to pursue
  a career in security is not a noble choice. It
  does matter.

  cant always stop crimes. Often, theyre stuck
  cleaning up after a crime has already happened.
