ICSI is a method which is used in the IVF
laboratory when a couple has infertility
especially with male partner. ICSI helps a
couple to enjoy their parenthood. Used in the
cases of Sperm disorders like low sperm count,
low quality of sperm or the abnormal shape of the
sperm which wont help to swim towards the egg.

The ICSI involves creating the quality eggs. For
this the female partner is given fertility drugs
to improve the egg count. After the extraction of
eggs and sperm from both the partners . ICSI is
a process in which a single sperm injected into
an egg using a fine glass needle.

• There are five major steps in the process
• The male member is asked to produce a sperm
  sample or one is surgically extracted from him.
• The eggs are surgically extracted from the female
  member
• Using a small hollow needle the sperm is injected
  into the egg
• The fertilized egg is now kept under observation
  and its development is tracked systematically
• Once it is assured that the embryo is showing all
  signs of normal growth , the embryo is implanted
  into the uterus and allowed to mature and grow
