Alison Lowe is a caring, kind-hearted and dynamic
young woman. She was born in Taiwan and grew up
in Vancouver, Canada. Since childhood, she has
had a concern for people, volunteering for many
different kinds of community service projects.
Through this she discovered her special interest
in healthcare, both physical and mental. As she
explored further, she found her passion in
psychology and chose to make this her career
path.

Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D degree in
Clinical Psychology in the United States. She
graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with First
Class Honors from the University of British
Columbia, Vancouver. She also attended Trinity
Western University in Langley where she was a
scholarship student and was on the Deans Honor
List. With a keen interest in research, Alison
Lowe worked in various academic settings.

At UBC, she worked as an Assistant and Project
Coordinator in the Psychophysics and Cognitive
Neuroscience Lab. Here, she designed a tutorial
that involves participants in various
sense-making tasks and used stress-inducing
techniques to emulate a crisis situation.

Was responsible for running the experiment,
collecting data, and performing analyses.
Co-author of manuscript currently in
preparation.. She worked as Research Assistant
in Clinical Child Psychology. During this time,
she performed complex coding and analysis of
participants self-representation and quality of
social interactions on social networking web
pages. She assisted with establishing a reliable
coding system.

She also worked as Research Assistant in Applied
Developmental Psychology at the Child Adolescent
Development Lab at UBC, Vancouver, BC. She
Administered teacher and student reports, peer
nominations, assessments of executive
functioning, and collected students cortical
levels, to evaluate the efficacy of combining the
Smart and Mind Up programs.

On a practical level, Alison Lowe has worked as a
Medical Office Assistant in a family physicians
office and as an assistant for a Chinese Medicine
doctor. A special experience was volunteering as
a medical and dental assistant in Mexico and
Vietnam. Here, she helped many hundreds of
patients in poverty-stricken rural
areas.   Alison has worked hard, cares very much
for people and has a bright future.
