• Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen was born
  September 23, 1949, in Freehold, NJ.
• He began performing in 1965 with a local
  high-school group, the Castiles.
• Over the next five years, he was a member in
  several Asbury Park, NJ bands.
• He formed his own 10-piece group in 1971 and
  signing with Columbia Records the following year

-Bruces first album was Greetings from Asbury
Park, N.J. -Another album he did was Born to
Run, and The River. -He also did Born in the
U.S.A., The Rising, and his latest album,
Magic.

Blinded By The Light
His first album, "Greetings From Asbury Park, New
Jersey, made him a favorite, even though sales
were slow. "Blinded By The Light" turned into a
number one hit.

Another one of Bruces albums, Born to Run,
included these songs Jungleland, Thunder Road,
Born to Run, Tenth Avenue Freeze Out, Night,
Backstreets, Shes the One, and Meeting Across
the River.

Bruces latest album, Magic, includes all of
these brand-new songs Radio Nowhere,You'll Be

Bruce Springsteen made most of his albums with
the E-street band. The members of the E-Street
Band are Roy Bittan piano (replaced David
Sancious in 1975) Clarence Clemons - saxophone
Danny Federici - organ, glockenspiel, keyboard
Nils Lofgren - guitar (replaced Steven van Zandt
in 1984 remained in group after van Zandt
returned) Patti Scialfa - guitar (Springsteen's
wife - added in 1984) Gary W. Tallent - bass
guitar Soozie Tyrell - violin (recorded with
Springsteen in 1995, joined the band officially
in 2002 with "The Rising" album and tour) Steven
van Zandt - guitar, mandolin (replaced Sukia Levy
violin in 1977, left in 1984 to go solo as
Little Steven, joined again in 1995) Max
Weinberg - drums (replaced Clarence "Boom" Carter
in 1975, who replaced Vinnie "Mad Dog" Lopez in
1975)

Danny Federici, the organ, keyboard, and
glockenspiel player of the E-Street band, died
recently from Melanoma, a form of skin cancer
