2New Files and Drop Box System
- New system in place by Fall 2008.
- Beta testing available in Summer 2 session.
- Introductory training begins second week of May.
- Hands-on, instructor-led workshops, and online

3Collage Issues on Mac Resolved
- Problem timeouts and uploading files using
Leopard OS. - Solution
- In Collage, click on Preferences.
- Select the Workstation button on the left.
- Automatically store copy of work files on
server should be set to No. - Click Apply, then click Close.
- Log out and quit Firefox.

- The Training Center is now offering summer
workshops to employees and off-campus
individuals/businesses. - Topics include
- Podcasting
- iPhone/iTouch Basics
- File Storage System on myACU
- Adobe Photoshop
- and much more!

documents to help you transition to your new

6Terminating Modem Pool
- Modem pool will no longer be accessible for
off-campus, Internet dial-up users as of June 1,
2008.
7iPhone/iTouch Introduction
- Introductory session will be offered for all
faculty and staff on May 6th at 130pm in the
Adams Center Classroom. - Find out how these instruments will be used in
the Fall of 2008. - The summer workshop schedule will be available on
the Training Center website in June.

- iPhone doesnt have this feature yet. There are

- Blackberry Use Google application
- iPhone Application works well iPhone email
messages look like messages in email
applications filing email is easier - Both sync with the server, have full access to
all email, show attachments, download messages in
the background, and have new mail notification

- Web browsing
- iPhones web browser is more fully functional.
- Applications on the device
- Blackberry can purchase many applications that
dont require any network access to run. - iPhone currently limited to applications that
come with the iPhone or that are web accessible.

- Wireless
- Both devices can use our wireless network or
ATTs cell phone network. - GPS
- One Blackberry model has true GPS for location
and turn-by-turn directions - Google maps has a proximity locator that you
can use with the iPhone - The next version of iPhone is expected to have
GPS, but there is no confirmed release date.

- Music/Podcasts
- Both have the ability to listen to music.
- The iPhone has an advantage by using iTunes.
Syncing music, podcasts, or videos, etc. is much
easier than on a Blackberry. - Camera
- Both have a camera. The Blackberry that has GPS
does not have a camera.

- These open lab sessions are available to help you
one-on-one with web publishing, media, and
podcasting questions. - Techno Tuesday - weekly on Tuesdays from 3-5pm.
- Techno Tuesday on Friday weekly on Fridays from
2-5pm. - Both sessions are held in the Adams Center
