Understanding the SWiCH

• The SWiCH is an effective alternative to
  chemical peels.
• In the past chemical peeling has been
  practiced by physicians and skin care
  professionals to rejuvenate damaged and aging
  skin. This method relies on the skins ability
  to repair itself after injury. Consistent damage
  to the epidermis, however, may lead to more
  serious side effects. With SWiCH it is
  possible to trigger the repair system without
  injury to the skin.

• The SWiCH System is based on a physiological
  principle of inducing the natural repair system
  of the skin to become active. Activation of the
  repair system can then effect a restoration of
  both sun-damaged skin and intrinsic skin aging
  changes.
• No downtime, no need to take off work, easily
  tolerated.

• There are many repair systems in the body, some
  are molecular, some are cellular, and some work
  on the level of tissue repair, as in wound
  healing.
• All these systems require energy, regardless of
  the type of repair. Biological energy comes in
  the form of adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. The
  key concepts needed to understand the science
  behind the SWiCH Treatment is knowing how
  biological energy is produced and how it is
  utilized.
• The major system used by the body to extract
  energy from our food is called the Krebs cycle ,
  or the tricarboxylic acid cycle.

• The two main ingredients in the SWiCHsolution
  are two of the Krebs Cycle intermediates.
• ? Pyruvate
• ? Succinic Acid
• Using these two components will accelerate the
  action of the cycle and produce more ATP.

• The solution reaches deep into the dermis without
  damaging the epidermis.

• How is this different than a chemical peel?
• Unlike glycolic or lactic acids that cause an
  exfoliation, SWiCHworks by boosting the energy
  in the cell resulting in a more organized and
  denser collagen and elastin matrix. This occurs
  gradually without injury.
• Does this treatment cause peeling?
• There should be very little or no peeling.
• Some redness may occur but will subside after
  a couple of hours.

• A soothing cleanser and a nourishing post peel
  lotion is used for 3 days post treatment.

for one year.

• Sun protection is important at all times.
• Home care products will be prescribed according
  to skin type and condition.
• An enzyme treatment is recommended 5 to 7 days
  after every SWiCH.
