Course Sequence
  • Take a mixture of technical and non-technical
courses each semester to be most successful.
  • RDG 120 and a chemistry course (High School/CHM
100/CHM 110) must be completed before taking the
National League of Nursing (NLN) exam.
  • For Nursing the high school chemistry course must
be within the last 5 years, and the student must
have received a C or better

9
Course Sequence
  • CHM 100 vs. CHM 110
  • CHM 100 was specifically designed for the DTCC
Nursing program. It covers only topics needed by
these students and it generally does not transfer
to 4-year programs. MAT 012 is a prerequisite
    for CHM 100.
  • CHM 110 is a broader course designed for students
in a variety of Allied Health and Engineering
fields. Not all topics are directly applicable
to Nursing. It is usually accepted by 4-year
programs (and must be taken for the UD Connected
Degree program). MAT 015 is a prerequisite for
    CHM 110.

10
Course Sequence
  • Be sure ALL prerequisites are fulfilled before
attempting to register for a course.
  • Student must have passed prerequisite course OR
be registered in that course during the present
    semester.
  • A P I is the prerequisite for Introductory
    Microbology
  • A P I and Chemistry are the prerequisites for A
    P II
  • MAT 119 should be taken the semester before
    beginning Nursing clinical courses.
