III Corps Fort Hood Safety Officer/NCO Course
  • Course purpose and content
  • What must the attendee do?
  • This course trains leaders in the critical areas
    of Risk Management and managing a unit safety
    program. Training can bolster any organization's
    mission by reducing injuries, illness,
    liability, statutory non-compliance and
    improving inefficiency.
  •  
  • Army Regulation AR 385-10 requires commanders to
    appoint in writing at least one individual to
    perform additional duty safety functions at
    company (SSG or above) and battalion
    (commissioned officer) levels.
  • Appointed individuals must first complete the
    on-line Additional Duty Safety Course, hosted by
    the Army Combat readiness/Safety Center. This
    can be found at https//crc.army.mil/home/
    Combat readiness university.
  • This 16- hr course details Accident causation,
    Safety Risk Management, Inspecting,
    Investigation, and Compliance With the Law (NRC,
    OSHA).
  • After this training is completed, you may attend
    our local safety 1-day course that covers
    pertinent FH regulations and requirements, POV
    AMV Accident Prevention, Hearing Conservation,
    Fire Prevention, and more.
  • The III Corps Fort Hood Safety Officer / NCO
    Course will be held monthly on the following
    dates 15 July 09, 12 Aug 09, 9 Sept 09, 7 Oct
    09, 11 Nov 09, and 9 Dec 09.

  • The following information needs to be provided by
    the unit in the email Attendees Last Name, First
    Name, Rank, Last Four, MCS, Battalion, Company
    and POC Phone number
  • Each attendee will bring with them a completed
    ADSC certificate, a notepad and pen.

  • Directions The course will be conducted at the
    Soldier Development Center Annex building 269A.
    Go from 72nd street and turn into Support Avenue.
    Follow the road until it dead ends (pass Soldier
    Development Center on your right) and park in the
    dirt parking lot. Enter the gate and go towards
    the right and look for building 269A.
  • Students will arrive for sign-in seated NLT 0900
    hours each day. Class will run until 1700 hours.
