What is IAAP?
  • We represent the 15th Division of the
    International Association of Applied Psychology
  • IAAP is the oldest international association
    with individual membership in applied psychology
  • It supports and encourages an international
    approach to student research and student
    professional orientations.

What is the Student Division?
  • Our mission is to support a network of student
    who share a common interest in international
    development, trends, applications, and research
    in applied psychology
  • Psychology students should have international
    exposure, ideas, and orientation when they start
    to become involved in developing and furthering
    research in applied psychology.

What are the advantages of joining the division?
  • 4 issues of the journal Applied Psychology and
    international review
  • IAAP Newsletter (4 issues) with information on
    what all the divisions are doing
  • IAAP-SD newsletter with reports on the activities
    we participated in
  • reduced subscriptions rates for all Blackwell
    Publishing psychology journals and many other
    journals

What are the advantages of joining the division?
  • Reduced fees for the international congresses
    organized by IAAP
  • Reduced fees in activities organized by the
    IAAP-SD
  • Become a part of a network of students where you
    can ask for informations, exchange ideas, propose
    activities
  • Information in advance about congresses,
    activities, promotions, etc...

What have we done so far?
  • The division was created in the IAAP congress in
    Singapore, August 2002
  • We had business meetings with APAGS, APA Div. 52
    IUPsyS, SIP and EFPSA for the past 3 years
  • We created a mailing list iaap_sd_at_yahoo.com,
  • a website at www.iaapsd.org,
  • and our newsletter (2005)
  • We organized several activites at international
    congresses such as EAWOP(2003), EFPSA (2004 e
    2005), IUPsyS (2004), EFPA (2005), SIP (2005).

What are our plans for the future?
  • To continue to organize activities and promote
    the student division at international psychology
    congresses (e.g. ICAP 2006, EFPSA 2006)
  • To create better links to national and
    international organizations, so that we have a
    bigger presence worldwide
  • To enhance the possibility of gathering members
    from underdevelopped countries
  • To make our mailing list, webpage and newsletter
    preferencial places for the exchange of
    experiences in psychology worldwide
  • To help promote applied psychology.
