Miller Child Learning Center
  • Founded in 1983 and serves children from ages 2-5
    years old
  • Purdue based pre-school
  • Approximately 75 families of students, faculty
    and staff
  • Training ground for future early education
teachers and research in child development
  • Philosophy of the MCLC
  • Based on the uniqueness and the intrinsic values
of the children and the staff members
  • Believe that children construct their own
knowledge by observing what is around them

4
Team Mission Statement
  • Develop toys and learning experiences that engage
young learners in science and engineering
    inquiry.
  • Stimulate their interest in the profession and
learn to apply technical concepts to problem
    solving in their everyday life.

5
Last Semester
  • The Weather Station
  • An interactive model that incorporates weather
phenomenon to help children understand the
    engineering concepts.
  • Four Groups
  • Each group developed lessons and activities
associated with a certain weather phenomenon.
  • In-class trial, analysis, and implementation.
  • Preliminary designs and specifications of Weather
    Station Hub.
