The Beatitudes
Matthew 51-11 1 And seeing the multitudes, He
went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His
disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His
mouth and taught them, saying 3 "Blessed are
the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of
heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, For they
shall be comforted.
4
The Beatitudes
Matthew 51-11 (cont.) 5 Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are
those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the
merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed
are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
5
The Beatitudes
Matthew 51-11 (cont.) 9 Blessed are the
peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of
God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for
righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of
heaven. 11 "Blessed are you when they revile and
persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against
you falsely for My sake.
6
To Be Blessed
Makarios Means to be happy.
7
More than happiness
It is a supernatural happiness.
8
More than happiness
It is knowing that you have Gods approval.
9
The Beatitudes
Matthew 53Blessed are the poor in spirit, for
theirs is the kingdom of heaven. You will be
supernaturally happy, knowing you are approved by
God and have a place with Him and will experience
the reality of His dynamic reign and rule both in
your present life and in your life to come, when
you face the reality of your own poverty of
spirit apart from God.
10
The Beatitudes
Matthew 54Blessed are those who mourn, for
they shall be comforted. Supernaturally happy
will be a person who knows their place in God -
and they will find comfort in knowing that godly
sorrow plays an important role in producing the
changes God desires in their life.  It will bring
them to repentance, draw them closer to Jesus,
and conform them more to His image.
11
The Beatitudes
Matthew 55Blessed are the meek, for they shall
inherit the earth.   Supernaturally happy will
be anyone that knows their place in God - and
they will be confident that they will inherit a
life of godliness in the present, and a life of
reigning with Christ in the future, if they
choose to place their strength under God's
control, surrender their will to God's will, and
put their trust in Him alone.
12
The Beatitudes
Matthew 56Blessed are those who hunger and
thirst for righteousness, for they shall be
filled. Supernaturally happy you will be because
you will know your place in God and be
confident that you will be filled to fullness
with an ever deepening satisfaction, if you
intensely desire to have a right relationship
with God, to live a godly life, and to be a
demonstration of His justice to the people around
you.
13
Kingdom Attitude 5
Matthew 57Blessed are the merciful, for they
shall receive mercy.
If you are a person who shows others kindness and
forgiveness
You are to be supernaturally happy because you
will know God approves of you and He promises
that you will be treated kindly by Him.

Matthew 1821-33 21 Then Peter came to Him and
said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin
against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven

you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times
seven.

Matthew 1821-33 (cont.) 23 For this reason,
the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king

the process, one of his debtors was brought in
who owed him millions of

wife, his children, and everything he had be sold
to pay the debt. 26 But the man fell down before
the king and begged him, 'Oh, sir, be patient
with me, and I will pay it all.' 27 Then the
king was filled with

forgave you that tremendous debt because you
pleaded with me. 33 Shouldn't you have mercy on
your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?'

JUSTICE
Justice seeks to give people what they deserve
for what they have done. Justice seeks to get
back at the person who perpetrated the wrong
against us. For others we want justice, but for
ourselves we want mercy.

Four Dimensions of Mercy
Luke 1030-34 30 Jesus replied with an
illustration "A Jewish man was traveling on a
trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was
attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his
clothes and money, beat him up, and left him half
dead beside the road. 31 By chance a Jewish
priest came

the man lying there, he crossed to the other side
of the road and passed him by. 32 A Temple

there, but he also passed by on the other side.

A Boss Should pay a fair wage and insist upon
hard work. (JUSTICE) However, there might be
times when a boss will pay more than a persons
work deserves, and go an extra mile with an
employee who is not really pulling their load.
(MERCY)

Kingdom Attitude 5
Supernaturally happy you will be because you
will know you have Gods approval and can be
confident that you will receive His kindness and
forgiveness, if you can recognize the distress of
others, and if you discern it is Gods will, to
show Christ love by extending tangible help,
regardless of who the person is.
