  • How can you prevent roll-overs?
  • Speed? Slow down!
  • Concentration? Concentrate!
  • Tired? STOP, rest, have a nap!
  • Night? Do NOT drive at night!
  • Dust? Do NOT go into a dust-cloud!
  • Wrong reaction? Train yourself mentally
    NOT to brake! NOT to over-steer!
  • Tyre blowouts? Check pressure
    regularly! Check condition regularly! Repl
    ace poor tires!

  • How to protect yourself against roll-over?
  • Use a 2-WD instead of a 4-WD.4-WD have a high
    center of gravity.This makes it more sensitive
    to roll-over.If you drive a 4-WD adjust your
    driving.
  • Make sure a 4-WD has a ROLL-OVER BAR !!!!!
  • Wear your seat belts !!!!!
  • Your BELT will Save your LIFE

1/Nov Suleiman al Jabri, 23 yrs, broke 2
fingers.Unscrewing the valve assembly.It
suddenly released.Suleiman tried to hold it,
but he fell over with the pipe trapping his
fingers onto the drill floor.

4/Nov Hameed al Walibroke his finger bad
cuts in hand.Trying to open a rusty jammed lock
mechanism of a beam-pump.It suddenly released
and smashed his hand.

Khalfan
Loading a skid onto a trailer. Khalfan was still
unhooking the slings when the driver drove-off.
Khalfan fell-off the truck. The load fell over
him. He is lucky to be alive!

    job ?? What about the controls ??
  • Was there ACTIVE supervision ?? Who was in
    charge ??
  • Did anyone check the procedures ??
  • Was there a tool-box talk/discussion ??
  • Were the guys experienced ?? If not did someone
    coach them ??
  • What about communication between team members ??
  • Do you have answers for these in all your jobs??

Identify hazards, look for them, be aware of
them always - Protect yourself from these
hazards, control them always- If you can not
