2Congratulations!
You have just won a trip to any state in the
United States. Which one are you going to
choose? Each state has a fascinating history and
many unique characteristics, which sets it apart
from any other nation in the world. Think about
it! In just this one country there are 50
exceptional states, each with their own symbols,
history, geography, environment, economy, and
people! Today you are going to get a chance to
learn what makes each state special. Make sure
to take in as much information on your virtual
road trip. Have fun!
3Your Mission

4TASK
In groups of 2-3 students, you will be learning
about all of the states in the USA. You will be
required to complete this Web Quest and then
research an individual state of your choice on
your own. You will use your research to create a
brochure, booklet or poster and present your
information to the class. You should try to be
as creative and interesting as possible. At the
end of the journey, the class will decide which
state theyd like to visit.

- Along with your group, you will research each
state using this Web Quest on the fifty United
States. - Links will be provided to help you find all the
information you will need to complete your Web
Quest, research and presentation. - You will use a word processing program to type
any information you use in your presentation. - You may use books or any other type of reference
material as a supplement, but only after you
complete the Web Quest.

- Use the inventions Web Quest worksheet as an
organizational guide to arrange your information
on each state. - Research and create a presentation on one state
following the rubric. - Present your state and information in one of the
following forms brochure, booklet, poster or
anything else approved by the teacher.

9Conclusion
- After the completion of the State Web quest and
your presentation you will be able to - Correctly identify all states on a map.
- Match each state with its capitol.
- Know a lot of information on each state and what
makes it unique, including - Be an expert representative on at least one
state. - Present your material in an effective way.
- You will also be asked to test your knowledge by
completing a blank map and being asked to
identify the state and its capitol.
10Evaluation
- Students will be graded as a group on the quality
and completeness of their Web Quest. - Students will be graded individually, based on
the attached rubric, for their individual
presentations
