3Introduction
- The purpose of this document is to provide the
community with information regarding the testing
of the Lender Application Process (LAP) and the
Lender Reporting System (LaRS). - ED-SFA is requesting the assistance of the
community in the LAP and LaRS testing efforts to
ensure that the applications are fully functional
and usable by the community.
- What is Needed from You
- If you are participating in community testing,
you will be requested to perform testing within a
certain timeframe. - We are also requesting your feedback on the User
Guides for LAP and LaRS. Drafts of these will be
distributed to the community at large in advance
of these testing efforts. - If you encounter a problem or have a question
during testing, we request that you document it
and submit it according to the directions that
will provided in your testing packet.
4Introduction (cont.)
- Before making either LAP or LaRS available to the
community for testing, ED-SFA will thoroughly
test the applications ourselves. Our testing
efforts will include - Unit Testing During Unit Test, our developers
test every piece of code in each of the screens
and other system components to ensure that
everything functions according to the detailed
system design. - System Testing During System Test, individuals
who did not develop the code test the logic and
functionality of the system as a whole, including
its integration with the ED-SFA financial
environment. This testing ensures that the
system meets the defined requirements. - Performance Testing During Performance Test,
ED-SFA will run large quantities of data through
the system and will simulate large numbers of
concurrent users to ensure that the system can
handle the maximums that were specified in the
requirements. Performance testing may be
performed in a separate environment at the same
time as community testing.

- Participants will act as lenders, servicers, or

via online and file transfer. - Participants may test their organizations file
layout for the file transfer option. To
participate in this area of testing, participants
will need to notify ED-SFA prior to testing in
order to coordinate the processing of those
files. ED-SFA would like to receive files that
are the typical size of those expected in
production. - Participants will receive notifications as
specified in the Notifications Matrix included in
the Final Road Map. - Participants will be able to update their user
profiles. - The day after invoice data is submitted,
participants will be able to access LaRS to see
the results of overnight processing. - Participants will be able to use reports to view
the data in the system.
10LaRS Testing Information (cont.)

- Participants will be provided with testing
scripts. Different participants will have
different scripts, to ensure that all scenarios

invoice data from prior quarters as part of their
unscripted testing, with the LIDs and Servicer
