Aboriginal means the original, native people of a
country you can also use the term Indigenous. We
will be looking at the work of the Australian
aboriginal people. The Australian Aboriginis
have changed little culturally since the
beginning of their history. Their art work is
vital to their culture and is included in every
aspect of their day to day life. Here are some
examples of Aboriginal art-work.

4Aboriginal art contains a great deal of simple
patterns like we can see here, dots, dashes,
circles, arrows make the basic picture. Looking
at these examples and using these simple shapes,
create your own pattern picture

You are going to creat a 3-D turtle like the one
we see above, this will then be decorated with
aborignal art
8MAKING YOUR ABORIGINAL TURTLE
1. Cover half of your balloon in mod roc
2. Remove your ½ mache shape from the balloon
3. Cut out your feet and head template and
attatch to the body
4. Decorate carefully your turtle with aboriginal
pattern
