SCHOOL DAY
  • First class begins at 750 a.m.
  • Students should be in their seats and ready to
    work by 750 a.m.
  • Last class ends at 240 p.m.

START OF SCHOOL DAY
  • Students may enter building upon arrival and are
    expected to remain in the cafeteria or in main
    hallway on first floor.
  • First bell will ring at 735 a.m. allowing
    students to enter all areas of the building.
  • There will be a 5 minute and a 1 minute warning
    bell.
  • All students must be in class at the 750 a.m.
    bell.
  • Students are required to leave all back packs and
    bags in their lockers. Any bag large enough to
    carry the agenda book will be considered a back
    pack.

AFTER SCHOOL SUPERVISION
  • Students should not be in the building after 300
    pm unless directly supervised by a staff member.
  • Students are expected to leave after school
    events within 30 minutes of their conclusion.

EXPECTED BEHAVIORS
  • Refer to the Student agenda book and CCPS
    Student-Parent Handbook
  • Some points of emphasis
  • All food and drink must be consumed only in the
    cafeteria.
  • Students are expected to carry their agenda books
    at all times
  • Students are expected to identify themselves to
    staff members when requested.
  • Students are required to leave their book bags in
    their lockers.
  • Students should attend all classes as scheduled
    and must receive teacher permission in order to
    miss assigned classes.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION DEVICES
  • Includes cell phones, camera phones, ipods, MP3
    players, video games, etc. (see CCPS Handbook)
  • Must not be seen or heard during the school day
  • Cell phone safe .
  • No earphones or headphones.
  • The school day definedthe time when the student
    enters the building until the (240 p.m.)
    dismissal bell

TRANSPORTATION
  • Bus routes determined by CCPS
  • Concerns addressed to CCPS Transportation at
    (410) 751-3229.
  • Any student needing to ride a bus other than
    his/her assigned bus must have a parent note and
    receive administrative approval in order to get a
    bus pass.
  • Students who walk to school should use sidewalks
    and cross at traffic lights. Sidewalks to school
    from Beaver Street to Maple Grove.
  • Buses have right of way over other vehicles on
    school grounds.
  • Students must register their cars and purchase a
    permit to park on campus. Students parking lot
    on south side of building.
  • Parent pick-up/drop-off published in newsletter.
  • First day bus line-up will be provided to
    students.

ATTENDANCE
  • All student absences must be verified through
    parent phone call, email, or fax.

  • Students arriving after 750 a.m. late bell are
    expected to report to attendance secretary for a
    late pass.
  • CCPS has a 5 Day Absence Policy (see CCPS
    Handbook)
  • Any student needing to leave before the end of
    the school day must see attendance secretary in
    cafeteria before 745 a.m. for an early dismissal
    pass. Parents are expected to sign students out
    in the office.
  • Administrative approval is needed prior to
    college visits or family vacations in order to be
    excused.

HEALTH SUITE
  • Students must have a pass from a staff member in
    order to go to the Health Suite.
  • All parent phone contact will be initiated by our
    school nurse.
  • Any student needing medication must follow CCPS
    Policy.
  • Students must be signed out by parent through the
    attendance office.

STUDENT RECOGNITION
  • Students may attain Honor Roll status with a
    weighted 3.0 GPA using quarter grades.
  • The Academic Letter will be awarded to students
    who have achieved Honor Roll status for 6
    consecutive quarters or 8 times in total.
  • The Academic Gold Bar will be awarded to students
    who have achieved Honor Roll status for 10
    consecutive quarters.
  • The Principals Recognition Award will be
    presented to students who have earned 5 or more
    AP credits.

SCHOOL PICTURES
  • Student Panoramic Picture will be taken on Aug.
    25th.
  • Sports Team Photos will be taken on Aug. 26th.
  • Individual student photos will be taken on Aug.
    27th or 28th based on students last name.
