- A program to foster community leadership by
preparing participants to serve as trustees of
Warren County in an effort to improve the quality
of life and the economic vitality of the region

- Bring caring, community-minded people together
from all across the County in an effort to form
partnerships to improve the economic vitality and
quality of life of Warren County - Inspire program participants to engage in the
civic life of the region by acquainting them with
community resources and assets, and the Countys
strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and
challenges - Arm program participants with the skills and
knowledge necessary to make a positive impact in
community and succeed at home and at work - Show participants how and where they can make a
difference - Foster a commitment to community trusteeship
- Create linkages between those who want to serve
the community and those who need assistance.

7Community Awareness Sessions
- Introduce participants to the various resources
and assets of Warren County and the opportunities
and challenges each sector is facing.

9Two Retreats
- Opening Retreat
- Overnight (two-day)
- Introduce participants through team-building
exercises and personality classification - Discuss the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities,
and challenges facing the various sectors in the
County - Select the team projects.
- Closing Retreat
- One full day
- Explain how to run for elected office how to
effectively serve on a board, commission, or
authority and how and where to get involved - Brainstorm a list of action steps that
participants could move forward with - Conduct a visioning exercise
- Debrief the year.

11Book Discussions
- Each participant will be given a library of books
that deal with leadership and management issues
and look at the overall trends affecting
communities. These will complement the sessions
and will be discussed at various points
throughout the program.
12Team Impact Projects
- The participants will form three teams and choose
their topics at the opening retreat. These
projects are an important component of the
program because they instill the message that
this is all about being handed the baton and
taking action to impact the County in a positive
way.

14At the end of the program, participants should
- Have a clear understanding of the issues and
opportunities facing the region - Understand where they are needed and how to get
involved - Make connections across the County
- Develop and hone their skills so they can be more
productive at work, at home, and in the
community - Understand the importance of community
trusteeship - Work together to make great things happen in
Warren County!

18Dates to Remember
- Applications are due July 13.
- Interviews will take place during the weeks of
July 16 and 23. - Acceptance letters will go out within the first
two weeks of August. - First session is September 12.
- Opening Retreat is September 28 29.
- Closing Retreat is June 4.
