- Gary Craig, trained at Stanford Univ. as an
engineer, developed EFT - He was also a personal performance coach
interested in resolving emotional blocks to
success.

EFT is a new relaxation and calming technique
that modifies the anxiety response, fosters body
awareness and enables positive cognitive
shifts. A unique exercise that calms you so
that you can think clearly about your problem.

- It is the speed of the movement that makes us

8Energy Therapies like EFT are often called
acupressure for emotions. The end points of
Meridians are used to help balance the bodys
energy system.

- You can pull up what bothers you and turn it off
on purpose. - You can do it with focus and intention using a
series of touches or taps. - No secret that touches are comforting we already
knew that.

21Problems are Like Puzzles
- There are many pieces
- Each piece may have several sides
- Some pieces are critical to putting the picture
together. - When some parts are put together the rest just
fall into place.
22GENERALIZATION EFFECT
- Gary Craig uses an analogy of cutting down each
tree from the clients forest. - Common themes help to generalize the effect so
that after several trees are cut entire forest
falls.

- Preferably start with a very specific but small
t trauma! - Pick just ONE piece of your puzzle
- Tune in to that piece of the issue

- Got a phobia or other fear situation?
- Physical pain often responds to EFT
- Repetitive traumas are NOT SPECIFIC - pick the
first time or a glaring example of it to tap for. - Pick a scene like a movie when you first felt the
emotion or pain. Pick a key scene. (e.g. the
look on their face, tone of voice, sick to
stomach, smell of burning, first move toward you,
etc.)

- Does it matter which hand? NO
- Can I switch hands while tapping? YES

- How many taps on each spot? 7 is most common
but sometimes more is better. - Will EFT take away natural (and healthy)
emotional responses to situations? No
36- Are there side effects? No, sometimes there is
relaxation or tiredness reported. - How long do treatment results last? Often
forever, sometimes until a toxin gets in the way
or we repeat our bad energy habits. - Does the treatment need to be repeated?
Sometimes on a different aspect, but if it worked
once, it will work when repeated. - Are set up statements necessary? No, but
using them seems to resolve issues faster. - Do I have to believe in the treatment for it to
work? NO, NO, and NO!! - Do I use the same EFT process for every issue? YES
