• Synopsis
• Period late 18th century
• Location Versailles and the Dombs
• The Dombs landscape was is still made of
  swamps. The place was then swarming with
  mosquitos and other bacteria and thus unhealthy.
  People were dying. Baron Ponceludon de Malavoy
  had this project to build a dam and other
  reservoirs to control the flooded regions. In
  order to get the money for it, he decided to
  plead before the king at Versailles.

RIDICULE

• The movie shows a different side of the life in
  Versailles, the everyday life of the nobility and
  the functioning of the system. The life at
  Versailles was based on appearance, nothing was
  more important than that.
