• Diversity--cultural, ethnic, socio-economic
  leading to disorientation and fear.
• Economical driven societies--consumer oriented,
  leading to a sense of entitlement.
• Driven--multi-tasked, distracted, media saturated.

• Who am I? Identity issues.
• To whom do I belong? Issues of relationship,
  loyalty, search for security/roots.
• What do I live for? (or die for?) What is the
  GoodI pursue.

The Significance of these issues for God

• Not for pragmatic reasons (because they help our
  church to grow).
• But for theological reasons. We start with these
  issues because God is present in the culture and
  context.
• Because of the Narrative of the Gospel.
