• Submit documented 10 hours of Level I teaching

  course EED/SED 233/ PED 369 (if still need to
  pass Praxis I)

Apply for Admission to Teacher Education

• Requirements
• Passing score on Praxis I/SAT/ACT (see required

• Documented completion of Level I 10-hour
  Observation Experience
• Declared correct major
  
  Earned 60 semester hours of
  credit
• Earned a 2.5 grade point average in total hours
  attempted at NSU, in the major, and in all
  college work attempted.

• No record of criminal violations or violations of

Throughout the Program

• Complete Methods of Teaching courses at least 6
  semester hours
• Submit documented completion of 40 hours of
  Level II Observation/Participation (20 per

  Recognition and Intervention Training

Admission to Student Teaching / Clinical
Practice

• Submit the application by November 1st for Spring

• Submit passing scores on Praxis II, VCLA, and VA
  Reading Assessment if applicable
• Submit evaluation signed by advisor, current
  medical, TB, and police report

• Submit biweekly progress reports, cooperating
  teacher evaluation, university supervisor
  evaluation to CPD
• Submit assessments of knowledge, performance, and
  conceptual framework
• Submit teaching recording, electronic teaching
  portfolio, and case study to CPD and university
  supervisor

• Submit student teaching logistical reports to CPD
• Apply for graduation meet with academic advisor
• Complete Exit Interview and Graduate Exit
  Documents

Apply for Teacher Licensure

• During the week of graduation, submit to CPD
• Application for Initial License and College
  Verification forms (see license application)

• Money order to VDOE _at_ 50 for in-state and
• 75 for out of state residents
• Copies of test scores and all field experience
  documents (clock hrs)
