DANCING IN THE BIBLE
  • Pagan Dance Exodus 3219
  • Celebratory Dance 2 Samuel 614-16. In this
instance the word dance means to leap with joy,
not dance in the proper sense.
  • Social Dance Judges 2121. Here dancing is
associated with an age of apostasy.

7
Dancing in the Bible
  • 4 Religious Dance Psalm 3011, 1493, 1504,
Jeremiah 314, 13. It appears that dancing may
have played some role in Old Testament worship.
Its purpose was limited as it is rarely
mentioned. It is clear that it had no sensual
implications and was not a performance but was
something carried out to the glory of God.
Therefore it CANNOT be used to justify 21st
    Century dancing.

Dancing in the Bible
  • 5 The Immoral Dance, Mark 622.
  • a Only mention of dancing in the New Testament.
