2008 State Legislative Calendar Key Dates

• Jan. 1 Statutes take effect.
• Jan. 7 Legislature reconvenes.
• Jan. 18 Last day for policy committees to hear
  and report fiscal bills.
• Jan. 25 Last day for any committee to hear and
  report bills introduced. Last day to submit bill
  requests.
• Jan. 31 Last day for the Assembly to pass bills
  introduced in 2007.
• Feb. 22 Last day for bills to be introduced.
• May 16 Last day for policy committees to meet
  prior to June 2.
• May 30 Last day for bills to pass through house
  of origin.
• June 26 Last day for a legislative measure to
  qualify for the Nov. 4 General election Ballot.
• July 3 Summer Recess begins on adjournment.
• Aug. 4 Legislature reconvenes.
• Aug. 31 Last day for any bill to be passed.
  Final recess begins upon adjournment.
