Teacher Management Indicators

• Preparation The teacher plans for delivery of
  the lesson relative to short-term and long-term
  objectives.
• Who determines these objectives?
• How are these objectives shared?

Routine

• The teacher uses a minimum of class time for
  non-instructional routines thus maximizing time
  on task.
• What things are you doing manually that
  could/should be automated?
• If you were to reflect on your administrative
  practices, would you delete change anything that
  you currently do?

Discipline

• The teacher clearly defines expected behavior
  (encourages positive behavior and controls
  negative behavior).
• How do I handle disruptive behavior?
• What do I do to motivate my kids to behave?

Learning Environment

• The teacher establishes rapport with the students
  and provides a pleasant , safe and orderly
  climate conducive to learning.
• Do I teach in such a way that it engages
  students and makes them look forward to coming to
  my class?
• Is my class a safe place for kids to learn,
  make mistakes, and then grow?

• What are we doing today (tomorrow, the rest of
  the year) and why are we doing it? Can the
  students tell mom/dad/others what they are doing
  and why?

• The teacher teaches the objectives through a
  variety of methods.
• Is each day a little different from the other day
  or is it same song, new verse?
• Are you constantly updating your skills and know
  the latest presentation methods?

• The teacher gives directions that are clearly
  stated and are related to the learning
  objectives.
• How are you sure that everyone understands what
  you have told them to do?
• Do you ask someone in the class to give the
  directions you just gave to insure that everyone
  gets it?
