SOFIE provides information about the Network,

2002 which features articles from school
newspapers from around the Network and original
news items written by members of the Network

SOFIE also publicizes Social Justice projects
from around the world. Two recent projects
included the construction of a new Sacred Heart
school in Uganda and the on-line sale of
Christmas ornaments made by the Giacamann
Brothers, a family-run business in Bethlehem.

Faculty Resources
Lesson Plan Share program allows SH faculty to
contribute their lesson plans and download plans
that others have posted. The Lesson Plan Share
has become one of the top 30 most popular areas
of SOFIE.
A study of the Renaissance period lends itself to
using Excel and creating an interactive map of

SOFIE offers searchable on-line Calendars. The
Network office maintains a general Network
calendar. There are also several Committee and
Group calendars. These are password protected and
can be customized.

Group mail addresses have been established for
administrative contacts, Committees and Groups,
and specific interest groups, like TechTalk.
Addresses can be seen on-line and a PDF listing
is available. If you have a suggestion for a new

SOFIE provides contact information for Sacred
Heart schools in the US and around the world.
Each US and Canadian school has its own page,
each foreign country has a page with a list of
schools in that country. The US schools page
receives almost 1,300 page views per month, on
average.

Downloadable PDF directories are available for
both US and international schools. The Network
Directory is one of SOFIEs most popular
features, with more than 200 downloads each month.

In 2002 SOFIE became a true Virtual Private
Network, with secure areas for Board Chairs and
Heads that feature 128 bit SSL encryption as well
as password protection.

Fundraising
On-line donations now possible through the
Network for Good. Their donation form is
integrated into the SOFIE site.

Traffic Statistics
February 2003 The web site received 15,241
visits. A typical visitor examined 11.42 pages.
Visitors came from 4,726 distinct Internet
addresses. The web server delivered 889 unique
documents one or more times each. 22 distinct
types of documents were delivered.
An average increase of 5,000 more visits per
month. About twice as many pages and downloadable
documents are being viewed each month. Monthly
traffic statistics reports can be downloaded from
the Tech Committees page.
Vs.
October 2001 This month the web site received
9,330 visits. Visitors came from 2,046 distinct
Internet addresses. The web server delivered 472
unique documents one or more times each. 13
distinct types of documents were delivered.
