What effects did it have?
  • Below are some of the effects of the Tsunami
    (Underline the secondary effects (remember
    secondary effects are the after effects of the
    wave and shaking).
  • Financial costs in monitoring and surveying
    infected water.
  • Contaminated food and water supplies.
  • Infrastructure (homes, buildings, roads)
    destroyed by waves carrying debris.
  • Disease caused by decaying bodies and stagnated
    water.
  • Illness resulting from poor access to those most
    in need (as roads and general infrastructure is
    destroyed).
  • Drowning and broken limbs (due to people being
    washed into debris like houses and trees).
  • Cost of restoring local amenities-schools,
    healthcare centres, water supplies and housing.
  • Psychological impact of peoples feelings towards
    their home.
