• operates the largest data archive in Europe as
  primary or secondary archive for many partner
  networks and several mobile instrument pools
• is the largest node in ORFEUS's future European
  Integrated Data Center (EIDAC) structure

The GFZ Seismological Data Archive

• It is
• the largest seismological data archive in Europe
  ( 9 TB)
• the primary archive and dissemination point for
  the
• permanent GEOFON VBB network (56 stations)
• passive seismological experiments of the GFZ
  Geophysical Instrument Pool (GIPP) and other
  pools in Germany and Europe (gt 50 experiments)
• the secondary (backup) archive and dissemination
  point for the GEOFON partner networks In Europe,
  SE Asia and in future maybe Central America and
  Africa
• It
• imports NRT data from gt 30 networks over Internet
  (GEVN)
• exports NRT data from 25 partner networks over
  Internet (through its public SeedLink server)
• has online data holdings of 18 TB (mirrored),
  backups volumes and raw data in tape archive
