Research brokering by the VTI is aimed at
efficient and effective research on more
general and basic problems in tribology.
Before major advances in tribology can be made,
it is essential that focussed work by well
defined cluster research projects in strategic
fields is carried out to supplement the
optimisation of current technical systems from
individual companies.
The VTI is kept up to date with new develop-ments
in tribology research and the problems and
demands of industry. The VTI is therefore the
best forum for the initiation of essential
strategic tribological research.
