Title: The History of Computing Foundation
1The History of Computing Foundation
2Objectives
To register the entire history of computing To
make the projects results available via a web
site The content will be governed by the OCL
policy
3Project infrastructure

4The concept
The entire history of computing can be seen as
weaving a carpet. There are a few main threads
but also many other threads, stories to color the
history to be told. If we recognise the timeline
as the main thread of the project then the
contents of all other threads serve to support
the timeline.

6Construction of a TimeLine
- A timeline is a chronological narration of events
in this history of computing - The timeline is divided in years that contain the
events - Each year has a compartimentalisation of the five
sections as mentioned above (e.g. company,
person) - This is also realised by introducing hyperlinks
to supportive text within the site context.
