  know?

• Tutu was making a quilt for Luka. First she
  sketched and cut the fabric. Then she pinned and
  basted.

Im not sure what basted means but I do know that
when you make a quilt, you have to cut and pin
the pieces before you can sew them. So basted
must mean that she sewed it.

• One day the quilt was finished. Luka could not
  wait to see all the flowers on it. She was
  excited when she saw the amaryllis, ginger and
  jacaranda.
